Welcome to the July edition of the Arai Helmet Europe Newsletter.

As the summer riding season continues, Arai remains committed to the philosophy that has guided every helmet for decades: protection first. In this edition, we revisit the importance of Arai's Egg Shape design philosophy, and shine a spotlight on one of our latest helmet designs.
On the track, it has been another remarkable period for Arai athletes, with historic success in MotoGP, victory at the iconic Suzuka 8 Hours, podium finishes across World Supersport, and championship-leading performances in DTM.

The Egg Shape - Why It Matters

Every Arai helmet begins with the same principle: a Priority for Protection
For decades Arai has committed to a smooth, round shell design based on nature's strongest design - the Egg Shape. While helmet technologies continue to evolve, this fundamental philosophy has never changed because it is designed to help achieve Glancing Off, one of Arai's most important objectives.
Rather than catching on an obstacle during an impact, a smooth, rounded shell is designed to glance off, helping to reduce the amount of energy transferred to the helmet. It is a concept that influences every stage of Arai's design process, from the shape of the outer shell to the way vents and components are integrated.
Our iconic, egg-shaped R75 shape is the basis of every helmet we make, and represents our unwavering commitment to protecting riders every time they put on an Arai.

Arai On Track

From historic victories in MotoGP to endurance success at Suzuka and championship battles across Europe, Arai athletes have continued to demonstrate the performance trusted at the highest level of motorcycle sport.
Ai Ogura made history at Assen by claiming his maiden MotoGP victory in Round 10 of the World Championship. After finishing second in the Sprint Race, the Japanese rider converted his pace into a memorable Grand Prix win – becoming the first Japanese rider to win a premier class Grand Prix in 20 years. He followed up the achievement just one week later with another outstanding performance, taking second place at the Sachsenring in Germany.
Throughout his MotoGP campaign, Ogura has competed wearing the Arai RX-7V FIM Racing #2, developed to meet the latest FIM FRHPhe-02 helmet homologation.
Another milestone was reached in the World Supersport series, as Jeremy Alcoba claimed the first WorldSSP podium of his career with third place in Race 1 at Donington Park. Albert Arenas also strengthened his championship challenge with an impressive pair of second-place finishes across the weekend, continuing his consistently strong 2026 campaign.
Like many of Arai's leading international racers, both riders compete in the RX-7V FIM Racing #2.
One of motorcycle racing's greatest challenges once again delivered unforgettable drama at the Suzuka 8 Hours. Battling difficult wet conditions, the Honda HRC team of Takumi Takahashi, Jonathan Rea and Somkiat Chantra produced a faultless performance to secure victory in Japan's iconic endurance race.
All three riders relied on the Arai RX-7V FIM Racing #2 throughout the demanding eight-hour contest, highlighting the helmet's performance at the highest level of international endurance racing.
Arai athletes Théo Espinasse and Thibault Giraudon enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the French Enduro Championship in Vagney. Espinasse led a Fantic Factory Racing Enduro one-two in the E3 class on the opening day before taking victory again on day two, while Giraudon added another podium finish to complete an excellent weekend for the team.
Both riders compete wearing the MX-V EVO FIM Racing #2, the latest Arai off-road helmet to receive FIM FRHPhe-02 homologation, bringing the same uncompromising approach to protection into top-level off-road competition.
Success wasn't limited to two wheels either. In the DTM championship, Maro Engel continued his impressive season with third and second place finishes at Oschersleben. Wearing the Arai GP-7 SRC, Engel now leads the championship standings as the series heads into its second half.

Factory Tour Series - Volume Five

Our Factory Tour series, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Arai factory in Japan, continues with the fifth stage of helmet production; the Transfer Decal process.
The replica models and graphic models of the top-level racers are applied with special water-transfer decals. The decals are very thin, and bending or stretching them too far can cause uneven coloring. Precise and delicate work is required.
Arai’s core foundation is to enhance “glancing off” performance for increased head protection. Alignments with components such as diffusers are meticulously verified.
Work without compromise on the paint finish makes an Arai.
